It’s that time of the year to switch up your skincare routine for Fall. With the temperatures dropping and the air drying, it’s time to examine what’s working and what isn’t.
While I’m a combination skin type that is more oily in the summer, I tend to dry out more in the winter. All those oil-absorbing products and light creams won’t cut it for the upcoming months.
Fall’s focus should be on hydration and keeping it in your skin to make it look as plump as possible. I had my eye on some products for a while that I decided to finally buy. And let me tell you, compared to the last routine, I love what I’ve added.
It’s almost helped me achieve the ever-elusive glass skin.
Whoa.
So without further ado, I’m excited to share a new batch of products with you!

Cleanser
I’ve tried cleansers that have been okay. I’ve tried cleansers that I liked. But there are very few times I’ve found cleansers that I’ve loved. This time around, I found a cleanser that was love at first try!
I knew for my fall skincare routine, I wanted something that would clean my skin without stripping it. The additional hydration would be a huge bonus. So, I found Innisfree’s Green Tea Hydrating Cleansing Foam.
Y’all.
My skin was so soft after the first use of this product. I literally couldn’t stop touching my face!
(Don’t be me. You shouldn’t touch your face.)
My skin felt clean. And more than that, it felt soft and hydrated.
I think what I love most about this product is that you don’t have to squeeze out a lot which means it’ll last me for a long time until I need to re-up again.
Look at an eraser on a standard pencil. Or the end of a pen cap. That’s it. That’s all you need for decadent, luscious foam. It’s easy to overuse this product and squeeze out too much.
Best part? It was not expensive at all. And with as little as you have to use, I’m willing to bet it’ll last me well over nine months. And that’s using it twice a day, every day. Well worth the cost!
Oil Cleanser
I’m going to be real with you. I haven’t been double cleansing a lot. It’s that time of year when I’ll only double cleanse if I’m wearing make-up or if I feel excessively oily. Which is why I’m still going through Softymo’s Deep Treatment Oil.
Again, I don’t love this product. Japanese Beauty cleansing oils are always too viscous for my liking. It’s not bad if that’s your preference.
But I’m looking forward to when I can switch back to Banila Co’s Clean It Zero again.
Exfoliation
I’ve been using up the last of my Strawberry Mask from Skinfood, but I decided to add another during my last purchases. I decided on Skinfood’s Black Sugar Mask. I’d seen it for a while, and it’s been on the list.
So I finally bought it.
And honestly, I like it better.
Both are amazing in their own right. They make my skin look fantastic. They both moisturize. They’re both made from natural ingredients.
But my only nitpicky thing is that the Black Sugar Scrub Mask dissolves completely because it’s made from sugar.
The Strawberry scrub mask contains actual strawberry seeds. It’s a cute touch and lets you know Skinfood is using food-grade products, but those seeds don’t dissolve.
Again, they’re both amazing, but I’ll be sticking to the sugar mask in the future.
Toner
I’m still on Pixi’s Glow Tonic because I love it. It has glycolic acid which is great for gently exfoliating the skin and promoting collagen production.
My only regret with this product is that Pixi released a Hello Kitty version of this product right after I bought a new bottle.
It’s the exact same product, but the topper has a cute little Hello Kitty lid on it.
If you’ve ever considered buying this product and you love all things cute like I do, buy it now.
Essence
Essence is one of those things I don’t typically use. But we’re talking about a fall skincare routine and adding hydration. I’ve mentioned in my top 5 Korean brands how much I love CosRx. I knew they would help my skin when it came to hydrating for Fall.
For that reason, I added CosRx’s Snail Mucin Dual Essence.
I love this product so much more than I thought I would. It might trickle over into my summer routine as well. I imagine it’ll be super refreshing to take out of the refrigerator and apply on hot days and balmy nights.
Serum
I am down to two serums now. I’m using The Ordinary’s Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%.
And dear, klairs Freshly Juiced Vitamin Drop.
I thought about getting another serum for nighttime use, but really, both of these are fine for a morning or night routine. I don’t have anything that I feel called to add now.
But maybe as we get deeper into the winter, I may consider adding a hyaluronic acid serum. Just so my skin can stay hydrated. But for the beginning of my fall skincare routine? These two are doing the job.
Day Cream, Night Cream, Sunscreen!
Elizavecca was on my mind this month. I love their Milky Piggy mask so, I thought I would try some of their other products. For my day cream, I switched to Elizavecca’s Peptide 3D Fix Elastic Bubble Hyaluronic Acid Moisturizer Facial Cream. Whew. Say that five times fast.
I have to say it’s one of the most unique creams I’ve tried. It goes on like a cream, but much like the milky piggy mask, it bubbles up instantly. The Korean skincare method encourages patting products into your face with your fingertips.
This is a reminder of that.
I’m very grateful to have the luxury of working from home. I get to linger on my skincare routine. But if you have to get out the door quickly, I wouldn’t recommend this product. It’s a lot of patting. Not as much as you would think, but quite a bit if you have things to do.
Your skincare routine is meant to be enjoyed. I can see where this could get annoying for some.
I will say that I like what it’s doing for my skin. It’s dewy and hydrated!
For my night cream, I’m using Elizavecca’s Moisture Hyaluronic Acid Memory Cream. This product is fine, but it does feel kind of tacky. It lasts like, maybe fifteen minutes or so after application, but I don’t like the feeling. When I wake up, my skin is soft and looks great.
But texture-wise? Bluh.
And while this has nothing to do with the quality, every time I see the artwork on it, I laugh.
Lastly, for sunscreen – because, yes, you still need it even if it’s cloudy – I bought another bottle of Supergoop’s Unseen Sunscreen. However, I think this is going to be the last one I buy for a while.
Again, Supergoop is amazing. It has an SPF of 40, it has primer added to it, and it doesn’t smell like sunscreen which is always a bonus in my book. Plus, it’s good on all skin tones which I love.
But with so many sunscreen products on the market now, I feel like it’s time for me to branch out. I want to keep you informed, after all! And I want to find more sunscreens that I fall in love with.
Sleep Pack
A sleep pack is the last thing you put on before you finish your night routine. Think of it like a mask, but one that you don’t have to wash off. It seals everything in while adding whatever boost you need. You can wear it as much or as little as you want.
In this case, since I was on the Elizavecca train, I bought Elizavecca’s Green Piggy Collagen Jella Pack. As part of my anti-aging products, I decided to give it a try.
I have to admit. Although I like a lot of Elizavecca’s stuff, I don’t like this particular product. The texture is gross. The smell is questionable. But, in its defense, I do look very refreshed when I wake up. That’s redeeming enough to keep using it.
But it does look like a jar of muddy fat. It’s a little unsettling.
It gets the job done, but good Lord, at what cost?
I saw that Belif has an Aqua Bomb sleeping mask! (It’s not a review unless I mention Belif at least once.)
I can’t wait to try it next. But that may be an addition to my winter skincare routine.
